Justin Tsui is a Hong Kong-born artist based in Bristol, UK. She earned her BA in Art & Design from California State University, Fullerton, where she developed her distinctive approach to colored pencil drawing.

Working exclusively in colored pencil, Justin creates portraits and still lifes that explore memory, identity, and the quiet significance of everyday life. Her process is meticulous and labor-intensive, building up intricate layers of pigment to achieve a depth and luminosity that challenges the perceived limitations of the medium. Through her vibrant yet carefully calibrated palette, she transforms ordinary subjects into works of emotional resonance and contemplative intensity.

Her work investigates how personal and cultural histories are embedded in the objects we live with and the faces we recognize, functioning as meditations on presence, absence, and the stories we carry across borders and time.

Justin's work has been exhibited internationally in Hong Kong, London, Bristol, and Vienna, including recent shows at the Saatchi Gallery and was selected from 13,000 entries for the Delphian Open Call 2025 Winners Exhibition.
